Only the highest quality materials are used in the manufacture of our cutting dies. The specific alloy and hardness are chosen to correspond precisely with the length of the production run and material requirements requested by our customer. All dies are manufactured with an internal and external geometry that ensures greater resistance to breakage with increased performance and accuracy.

Performance of our "S5" alloy tool steel is generally between 3 to 5 million labels before sharpening is required. This statistic is based on coated paper stock and may vary depending on material and cutting room conditions. Metalized paper and film can also be cut using this alloy composition with approximately the same production.

Cutting both paper and plastic this grade of steel has also been found to work with the new poly and film materials as well as small books under counter-pressure.
